The Horror of the Horrors of Cocaine

Hey yet again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. So now that this Horrors of Cocaine play has finished its time at Theater for the New City, I guess I can now blogger say, in this random thoughts of a long passage, without censorship, that this production of Horrors of Cocaine at Theater for the New City became the horror of the Horrors of Cocaine at Theater for the New City by the time it was finished. So what do you do when your play is hijacked, developed, revised and rewritten by a dictator actor who tries to take over your play and who thinks it is their play, to the point to where the script is barely even recognizable from the original script, to the point to where the main two characters quit after the second day of performances and you find yourself looking for replacement actors at the very last minute, to the point to where the play becomes a reading without props and you can't even get the remaining actors to do a staged reading with props, to the point to where the play becomes a reading without props, after months of rehearsals, to the point to where you are even told that you have to audition to read in your own play because simply put, you are held hostage at the mercy of hijackers and revolting actors, save for one innocent actor, and you have no say in your own play anymore, or what was left of your play, which has now become an epic disaster and an ongoing traumatic nightmare, to the point to where on the final day of that performance, one of the actors writes on your greeting card "We're sorry for all that you have been through with this project". And so what do you do when your play has fallen into the hands of another and you are battling a dictator actor and their actor friends, save for that one innocent actor again, who try to kick you out of your own play. Do you ask your friends to act in your play instead just to avoid hijackings and rebellions. And all with this taking place during non stop snow storms and record breaking cold temperatures the past couple of weeks in that city of New York, having snowed so much that you don't even put the shovel away, you just leave it out, and a bag of rock salt for the sidewalk becomes your best friend. So the epic disaster nightmare of this production that mostly friends attended is over. And this scenario of a story has been drama within drama and hence a story line within a story line that befalls you, comedy and tragedy that the theater world has probably seen before, as there is nothing new under the sun and the show must go on, unless the theater says otherwise. And what the moral to this story may be I am not sure. Are there any lessons to be learned, I am not sure, except to blagh, thank you to Theater for the New City for being the one theater left that gives artists the opportunity to express their creativity in the community.

Yesterdays Final Performance

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And here are some photos from yesterdays final performance of Horrors of Cocaine @ Theater for the New City.
Now that Horrors of Cocaine @ Theater for the New City has passed, I wanted to post a message to say thanks to the actors from the Horrors of Cocaine play for making it to the play during non stop snow storms and record breaking cold temperatures and for putting the time in to help with the play these past few weeks and months. I would also like to thank the friends who came to see the play and who follows and has followed the Horrors of Cocaine Facebook page during the Horrors of Cocaine @ Theater for the New City time.
Whether or not Horrors of Cocaine will be presented anywhere again remains to be seen.
Thank you to Theater for the New City for being the one theater left that gives artists the opportunity to express their creativity in the community.
Whether or not there will continue to be posts on this page for Horrors of Cocaine and beyond remains to be seen.

And the cast of Horrors of Cocaine at Theater for the New City was Paula Andrea, Brian Fender - Shirley, Jason Daunno, Miyuki Kumamoto and Amanda Figueiredo with NJ, Eric Dahl and Stuart Newman sitting in.
I can not think of much else to write at the moment. Good day.
"And there has been drama within drama in what also became the Horror of the Horrors of Cocaine for this production. comedy and tragedy. and maybe the theater world has seen it all".

The Show Must Go On

The show must go on. Unless the venue says otherwise.... And I have heard it said that the show must go on when it comes to the entertainment industry and beyond. And so here we are at yesterday's performance/reading of  Horrors of Cocaine at Theater for the New City attempting to go on after a couple of cast members left the show last week. And the show has been drama, drama and more drama as in those comedy and tragedy masks posted above.  And that Horrors of Cocaine YouTube video clip and photos that find themselves posted above, well those are of myself hanging out @ The Chocolate Factory, some of the props from Horrors of Cocaine, and Seth, Louisa, Kathleen and Judy hanging out after the show. And we are looking forward to seeing you tonight for Horrors of Cocaine at Theater for the New City, February 19 - March 1.

A Horrors of Cocaine Reading

And so if I should blogger say, for the sake of the remaining shows, that photo that finds itself posted above can be called something like a reading to re-work the Horrors of Cocaine play. We hope to see you at Horrors of Cocaine @ Theater for the New City, February 19 - March 1.

Alisa's Birthday Rehearsal

And on this day of yesterday found itself as Alisa's birthday at a Horrors of Cocaine rehearsal. Or at least on that day of yesterday found itself as near Alisa's birthday at a Horrors of Cocaine rehearsal. And Alisa portrays Maxine in Horrors of Cocaine. And she is addicted to crack cocaine. And so we took the opportunity to say happy birthday to Alisa with those birthday balloons and candles that find themselves in those photos above. And on this day of yesterday also finds itself as the coldest day in New York City in 20 years in that city of  New York, so much that it is freezing like hell outside as I blog this blog post.  And we are still here, rehearsing for a Horrors of Cocaine play as one of those many Theater for the New City productions.  We look forward to seeing you at Theater for the New City soon.

Amanda

And I must say on this blogging day that it's almost zero degree temperatures outside right now in that city of New York, in the month of February. And there seems to be snowstorm after snowstorm after snowstorm in what seems like an ice age on the streets of New York City, and it's just plain freezing outside at the moment. And yet, as the nurse in Horrors of Cocaine, Amanda made it to a Horrors of Cocaine rehearsal yesterday! Arctic weather and all. Thanks Amanda. We look forward to seeing you perform as part of Horrors of Cocaine @ Theater for the New City.

A White Lines Song

And I have found myself posting this grandmaster flash & the furious five - white lines song on this blog before as one of those 80's American rap songs. And this grandmaster flash & the furious five Youtube video and song that finds itself posted above seems as if it wants to be posted on this blog again. And that white lines song has found itself being played as part of that Horrors of Cocaine play before and it seems as if it will find itself being played as part of that Horrors of Cocaine play at Theater for the New City, that theater that has found itself in that neighborhood of the Lower East Side, now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes, maybe, seemingly forever, in that city of New York. And so that white lines song may find itself being played as part of this Horrors of Cocaine play again, whenever it can find an opportunity to be played. And that boombox in that white lines 80's looking Youtube video photo, well that boombox just looks 80's looking Youtube video photo, rap song cool. Buy tickets for Horrors of Cocaine here and make plans now to attend "Horrors of Cocaine" @ Theater for the New City during the month of February, 2015. Looking forward.

A Snowmageddon Rehearsal

Miyuki, Alisa and John at yesterday's rehearsal. A snow storm snowmageddon was on this day and New York City found itself shut down early due to inclement weather.  We hope to see everyone at the next rehearsal. And words are passing me by, what else to post on this blog post. Have a great snowstorm day.
